Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode No. 32: Tribute to my dog, Latte. RIP.

Gail Alfar on Tesla FSD beta on Austin’s 2222 Road.

(Austin, Texas)

This was a hard day for our family, we lost our beloved dog, Latte, today. He was a wonderful and loyal little guy, thankfully, he had a good run in his life. I wanted to do a podcast in his honor, so I did one to a place that he once loved, Mount Bonnell on the West side of Austin, Texas. I also went to a BBQ spot where he (of course) loved getting rib bones from when they were available.

Come with me on this drive that includes a series of hairpin turns on very narrow and often unpainted roads.

Apologies for getting the podcast numbers a little mixed up, this was the 32nd Podcast, though I labeled it the 31st one!

This drive is on Tesla FSD beat version 11.4.7.2

Users on X sent me condolences

When I shared on X that my dog passed away, I was comforted by over 175 people posting condolences and sharing their own thoughts and prayers. This was unexpected.

Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode No. 28: FSD beta to see E-Bikes

Autin, Texas

Come along for a flawless drive on FSD beta 11.4.7 to check out some different electric bikes in Austin, Texas. These bikes are easy to operate and are very fast. I tested out a few bikes and really enjoyed the hospitality of the folks at the Bike Farm at 5440 Burnet Road in Austin.

Austin, Texas

3D Home Printing

For this episode, we are joined by a journalist who exclusively reports on building construction with 3D printing. We will visit a 3D-printed home in Austin, Texas. In a brief interview, Jarett explains how these homes are made.

FSD Beta

As with almost every podcast I do, we will drive through narrow and very challenging streets in Austin. In this case, FSD beta slows for safety as it encounters a construction site.

Enjoy the podcast.

Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode No. 24 featuring: 105° Heat and Hairpin turns!

Austin, Texas

Join me for a drive in the infamous Austin heat. It is hot and windy out and we are heading to a rather dry Lake Travis. The hairpin turns would scare anybody who is driving manually. But we are not driving manually. The vehicle is running on Tesla’s amazing FSD beta software.

While safety is number 1 for Tesla, having fun is a close second! This drive is short ( only 3:37 minutes long) and very fun!

Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode No. 23 featuring: FSD Beta Suspension

Austin, Texas

This podcast is very different from all my other episodes. I received several “strikes” on my FSD beta software from Tesla, and so I temporarily lost the use of FSD beta. This podcast details how difficult it is to drive exclusively on what I call, “human pilot.”

Human pilot is where I am using only my two eyes and my own human neural net to drive the car.

It is a bit hard to explain why this is important, but the main point has to do with lack of safety. Driving on human pilot is significantly less safe than driving using Tesla Autopilot or Tesla FSD beta. Enjoy the podcast.

Waymo, Cruise

In this episode, we’ll also cross paths with other autonomous cars (driverless) in Austin, Texas, such as “Cruise” vehicles.

Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode No. 21: FSD beta to Rainey Street and beyond.

Austin, Texas

Join me for a zero disengagement drive on Tesla FSD beta in Austin traffic, near Austin construction, all during sunset. We will visit famous Rainey Street and also see several autonomous “Cruise” vehicles.

In this podcast, I also explain how revenue from my subscribers on the X App is used to help me rent a small office space downtown so that I can dedicate time to documenting Tesla FSD beta.

Tesla FSD Beta as a Historical Event

I feel fortunate to be documenting Tesla’s autonomy and its progress in my videos and on this blog. I know that Tesla is making history. I am certain that Elon Musk is deploying everything he can to bring us to a future with Robotaxi cars. Each one of my podcast episodes is a documentation of how fast Tesla is advancing in artificial intelligence.

correction: my post on X says this is podcast 20, this is an error, it is podcast 21.

Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode No. 20 featuring: FSD beta 11.4.4 and “Fart Mode”

Austin, Texas

On this drive, we start off by colorizing the Tesla on the screen and we select a nice deep purple color for the car. As we drive we’ll see some of Austin’s murals and artistic graffiti. But the best part of the podcast is the sound the car makes whenever it turns corners.

Tesla “Fart” mode

Tesla has always gone to great lengths to make its vehicles fun. When you select “fart mode” in your vehicle, whether it’s a Tesla Model S, 3, X, Y, or a Cybertruck, you’ll hear a delightful little emissions sound. This is a play on the fact that Tesla cars have ZERO emissions. Here’s your choices of fart sounds:

  1. Not a Fart (a reference to Not a Flamethrower that Boring Co. sold in 2018)
  2. Short Shorts Ripper (A hilarious tribute to TSLA stock short sellers)
  3. Falcon Heavy (SpaceX’s rocket with 2 boosters)
  4. Ludicrous Fart (Homage to SPACEBALLS, the movie)
  5. Neurastink (a reference to Neuralink)
  6. Boring (as in The Boring Company)
    * The seventh choice, called “I’m so random,” will pick one of the sounds randomly.
Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode 20.

Setting Fart Mode in the Tesla

Elon Musk’s Headstone

I’ll add a little personal note here. Elon Musk has said that when he passes away, he’d like his headstone to say, “INVENTOR OF THE CAR FART,” so when I met Elon on August 18th, 2022 at Gigafactory Texas, I asked him if he was okay with other automakers using fart mode. I was under the false impression that it was an exclusive patent. Elon informed me, in a serious matter-of-fact way, that he is perfectly fine with other OEMs using Fart Mode. His goal is to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy and he has made sure that all of Tesla’s patents are open-source, including Fart Mode.

Gail’s Tesla Podcast Episode No. 19: Galveston Beach, Texas on the 4th of July

Galveston Beach, Texas

Fourth of July is a popular time to visit the sparkling beaches on the Gulf Coast of Texas. I packed up my gear, and headed to Galveston Beach with my family to enjoy the sand, sun, ocean salt water, and Tesla FSD beta in a busy beach town! What an amazing experience.

Consider this: When you travel outside your usual comfort zone, Tesla FSD beta is your best friend who “knows” the new town well. This was my experience in Galveston. Enjoy the podcast and I hope your travels are fun, safe, and memorable!

Ashley St. Clair and Gail Alfar at Tesla Supercharger.

Ashley St. Clair joins us for the podcast.

Join Ashley St. Clair and me for a drive from the Austin airport to visit 1 Tesla Road, try out V3 supercharging, and experience FSD beta for the first time!

A thought-provoking conversation with Ashley

After our stop at Giga Texas, Ashley explains her book, written for children, Freedom Island, Elephants Are Not Birds, and we also touch on topics like ESG and boycott. I hope you enjoy both the conversation and the incredible ride showcasing the amazing FSD software that Tesla continues to put so much effort into perfecting through tens of thousands of hours of work utilizing their fleet of millions of vehicles.

Thank you for watching!
